Ed and Ann Dominelli

Resident

Ann and Ed have 5 grown children. They spent many years as residents of Schenectady and were local business owners. “We enjoy keeping our connection with friends and family even though we now live at Delmar Place.”

 

Leon Aiken

Resident

Lee was raised in Oswego, NY but lived many years in Delmar. While in the Army, Lee had a chance to travel around the world. He claims New Zealand as his most favorite place. “Golf was also a passion and I like the putting green in our Courtyard. It’s fun to practice.”

 

Nelson Brott

Resident

Proud of his country and his military service, Nelson still spends time at the VA Hospital visiting with his many friends. He is a former postman who lived in Troy most of his life. Nelson enjoys singing and is part of the VA choir. Of Delmar Place, Nelson states, “The people are nice and the food is good. I am very comfortable here.”

 

Rose LaFalce

Resident

Rose came to Delmar Place from the Slingerlands area. As a recent widow, she no longer wanted to live alone. “I love it here. Everyone is so nice. It is just like home.” says Rose. She is especially proud of her 3 daughters and enjoys the many activities scheduled each day at Delmar Place.

 

Carrie Mae Martorana

Resident

Originally from Louisianna, Carrie taught math at LSU and Penn State. She loves adventure, has traveled the world and piloted airplanes. One of Carrie’s fond memories is of spending summers in Alaska with her husband Sebastian.

 

Jean Warren

Resident

Jean was born in the Midwest and made her way east to attend Julliard School of Music.  As a singer, Jean had the pleasure of touring and introducing people to classical pieces of music.  She met her husband while working in NYC before moving to the Albany area.  Of Delmar Place Jean says, “The place and the people are wonderful.”

 

Bernadette Setzer

Resident

An avid walker, Bernadette recalls the beautiful beaches of Long Island, where she spent most of her life. She commuted in and out of NYC working for an Insurance Company. Delmar Place has “good programs which help keep everyone actively engaged!”

 

Ruth Groesbeck

Resident

Born and raised in Delmar, “Hilda” focused her energy on raising her family and taking care of her home and husband Wilbur. Hilda likes “just about everything” at Delmar Place. She especially likes “all the nice people who live here.”
