• Are there adequate closets for storage, coats etc., and do you provide storage bins or locked units for other possessions?

All apartments have closets and ample cabinet space. In addition, secure storage areas are available on the lower level for a nominal monthly fee.

• Your brochure indicates that you have scheduled transportation. What forms of transportation do you offer?

Transportation is available for scheduled appointments and outings. We have a wheelchair accessible passenger van. We realize that it will not be possible for us to provide transportation for all medical appointments and will rely on family and other volunteers from time to time.

• Could you be more specific about 24-hour supervision? Does that mean Delmar Place is safe for someone with dementia, or someone who could possibly wander?

24-hour supervision is provided by a nurse and resident assistants staffed according to Department of Health regulations. Delmar Place is not an appropriate setting for people with advanced memory care needs.

• Are resident cars allowed?

Yes, cars are allowed. We’ll even clean it off in the winter!

• Do you have gathering and sitting areas for residents both inside and outside?

Throughout Delmar Place there are lounge areas where residents can socialize in small groups. You will also find parlor areas and our Club Room for watching television, playing card games, and the like. Each floor has a Country Kitchen and we have an ongoing series of activities and wellness programs. We have a lovely enclosed courtyard with a Koi pond and a putting green, perfect for relaxing in the warmer weather. In addition, there are many new trees and landscaping which creates a relaxed and pleasant oasis in the heart of Delmar.

• Please be specific about kitchenette facilities.

Each apartment is equipped with a tea kitchen, which includes a counter area, sink, small refrigerator, cabinets and a microwave oven.

• Can residents keep their own doctors?
