Marion MullerMarion Muller

Resident

Born and raised in California, Marion met her husband, a naval officer, while he was stationed out west. Together they moved to Albany where they raised 6 children. She now calls the Northeast home. She is happy to enjoy friends at Delmar Place.

 

Clarissa DonovanCarrie Mae Martorana

Resident

Originally from Louisianna, Carrie taught math at LSU and Penn State. She loves adventure, has traveled the world and piloted airplanes. One of Carrie’s fond memories is of spending summers in Alaska with her husband Sebastian.

 

Marion MullerPat & John Brown

Residents

Married for 60 years and long time residents of Albany, Pat and John are a charming couple and call Delmar Place home. Mr. and Mrs. Brown chose Delmar Place for the staff and support system the residence offered. Mrs. Brown was a statistician for New York State and was one of the founders of the Vanguard for the Albany Symphony. Mr. Brown, the unofficial "old guy" of the Albany Academy, is a graduate of RPI with a degree in engineering. The couple is active in their local church and continues to do volunteer work.

 

Clarissa Donovan Jean Warren

Resident

Jean was born in the Midwest and made her way east to attend Julliard School of Music.  As a singer, Jean had the pleasure of touring and introducing people to classical pieces of music.  She met her husband while working in NYC before moving to the Albany area.  Of Delmar Place Jean says, “The place and the people are wonderful.”

 

Marion MullerBernadette Setzer

Resident

An avid walker, Bernadette recalls the beautiful beaches of Long Island, where she spent most of her life. She commuted in and out of NYC working for an Insurance Company. Delmar Place has “good programs which help keep everyone actively engaged!”

 

Clarissa Donovan Nitta Spagnuolo

Resident

The Albany area was home to Nitta and her
husband Michael.  Nitta remembers some
compelling cases as a court stenographer for
the County and State Judicial system.  “I am
happy to be in these beautiful surroundings”
says Nitta of Delmar Place.  “The staff is
really helpful and kind.”

 

Marion MullerRuth Groesbeck

Resident

Born and raised in Delmar, “Hilda” focused her energy on raising her family and taking care of her home and husband Wilbur. Hilda likes “just about everything” at Delmar Place. She especially likes “all the nice people who live here.”

 

Clarissa Donovan Marie Jackstadt

Resident

Marie is a people person who is always smiling! She met her husband while working for the telephone company which also brought them to Albany. Marie is a former Avon representative and an avid walker. “I have always tried to stay active and in-shape” says Marie. “I like the location of Delmar Place and the comfort of my apartment.” “My family is close by and comes to visit often,” she says with a smile.

 

Marion MullerWarren Mead

Resident

Son of a farmer, “Pete” spent his youth in Selkirk on the family farm raising cows and chickens. He later drove a truck for United Transport and eventually retired from Owens Corning. Pete enjoys bowling and the “delicious food” at Delmar Place.
